The Somerset Raritan Valley Sewerage Authority, established in 1958, is a regional wastewater treatment plant located in Somerset County, New Jersey. We are a local governmental agency serving seven communities; Branchburg, Bridgewater, Hillsborough, Manville, Raritan, Somerville and Warren. Located in Somerset County, the Authority operates a 23.0 MGD secondary advanced wastewater treatment system. Sludge is managed with a fluidized bed incinerator. In addition to the processing of wastewater, the Somerset Raritan Valley Sewerage Authority accepts deliveries of graywater, septage and sludge. The Authority is governed by a Board of Commissioners. Each community is represented by two Commissioners, as appointed by their respective communities. All Authority business is conducted at meetings of the Board of Commissioners who convene each fourth Monday of the month.
