The Linden Roselle Sewerage Authority, created in 1948, services the City of Linden and the Borough of Roselle. It was established to contract and operate wastewater treatment and interceptor facilities to collect, treat and dispose of sewage generated by the municipalities. The Authority's service area is 13 square miles and it services a residential population of 60,000 and a diverse industrial community. The Authority also administers a state approved Industrial Pretreatment Program. The Authority's sewerage treatment is classified as a biological system and is designed to treat 17 million gallons per day.
