Services that SUEZ North America provides at Princeton Meadows include the collection and treatment of 1.6 million gallons of wastewater per day, maintenance and operation of one (1) wastewater treatment plant, 36 miles of sewage collection infrastructure and five (5) sewage pump stations. Several steps are taken to treat wastewater. The facility removes solids, reduces organic matter and pollutants and restores oxygen to help ensure that the treated water has enough oxygen to support life. The superior treated effluent is discharged to Cranbury Brook downstream of the Mill Pond Dam, with about 25 million gallons pumped via a 2.7 mile pipe to The Meadows at Middlesex Golf Course for spray irrigation of the greens and fairways. SUEZ in Princeton Meadows has earned the NJ Department of Environmental Protection Environmental Stewardship Award for this effort. SUEZ has a long-term program to monitor and clean its collection system. Keeping the pipes clean of grease build-up will prevent sewer back-ups and prevent manhole overflows. Aside from wastewater-related issues, SUEZ is committed to identifying, supporting and partnering with the Township of Plainsboro and other organizations for a broad range of community relations activities benefitting the residents it serves.
